- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation IFBP04141200001 for the award of a firm fixed-price contract for renovation of ventilation systems at Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (MCFP) Springfield. MCFP Springfield is a federal correctional facility located at 1900 West Sunshine Street, Springfield, Missouri 65807. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor for the complete construction of the work in accordance with federal, state, local, and national building codes. The work is required within the confines of the secure perimeter specifically within Building #10. The work consists of installing a common duct work system to capture all of the return air from the ceilings and corridors in Building #10. The duct work will be fitted with 1/4 inch wire mesh and security bars on the open inlets within the newly created plenum space. The existing return air grilles will be removed and the ceiling will be patched to match existing conditions. The existing transfer grilles in the walls and doors will be covered with a 1-hour fire stop material. This project will correct the use of the corridors and stairwells as a return air path. The performance period for the project will be 375 calendar days from issuance of notice to proceed. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, the magnitude of the project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The solicitation will be available on or about February 6, 2012. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The website provides download instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including any amendments, will also be distributed solely through this website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this website to ensure that they have the most recent information about this proposed contract action. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 with a small business size standard of $14 million. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered at www.ccr.gov and http://orca.bpn.gov. Any prospective bidder's ORCA registration must include the applicable NAICS code (238220) for this acquisition. Faith-based and Community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. This is a 100 percent small business set-aside.
