- COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION PURCHASE PLASTIC FAIRINGS (I)This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice and in accordance with the simplified acquisition procedures authorized in FAR Part 13. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (II)This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Submit written quotes on RFQ Number PMEL-11-01816. (III)The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-54. (IV)This solicitation is being issued with a total small business Set-aside. The associated NAICS code is 334511. (V)This combined solicitation/synopsis is for purchase of the following commercial items: Modified Hydrophone (VI)Description of requirements is as follows: Minimum requirements Pressure rating : >16.2 kPSI Sensitivity : from -170 dB to -185 dB re 1V/µPa Element Bandwidth : 2 to 50 kHz or wider Diameter : less than 4 inches Weight : < 1kg in water Height: less than 6 inches Delivery : 16-20 weeks Construction : mating surface has to be titanium Quantity : 1 The hydrophone will be installed on a submarine which is capable of diving to 11,000 m (16.2 kPSI). It will be directly mounted on the end plate of the titanium pressure housing and it must meet the sensitivity, frequency, dimensional and weight specifications stated above. (VII)Date(s) and place(s) of delivery and acceptance 01/19/2012 at FOB Destination. (VIII) FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (2005-54), applies to this acquisition. (IX) Offers that meet the required specifications will be evaluated on price. The following provisions and clauses are applicable to this purchase. FAR 52.204-8, Annual Representations and Certifications applies to this acquisition.
