- The U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC)-New Jersey located at Fort Dix, NJ 08640, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems (OPM-CAS) is conducting market research to identify potential sources that are capable of supplying the FMU 160/B High Fragmentation Proximity Fuze (HFF) with Point Detonating (PD) backup used in 105mm HF Artillery Projectiles on U. S. Air Force Special Operations gunships.The FMU 160/B fuze will be purchased on behalf of the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). The fuze/projectile will be fired from a modified M137 105mm cannon that is mounted in the AC-130 Gunship. The Government anticipates soliciting offerors for award of a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to deliver to the United States Air Force FY13-FY17 Tactical Fuzes production requirements. It is anticipated that a single IDIQ contract will be awarded for a basic period of five years. The NAICS code for this requirement will likely be 332993. All respondents to this market survey should show they have certification to receive export-controlled technical data (including drawings restricted by Distributions Statement D) and must have facilities with sufficient safety clearance to handle hazard classifications (i.e. 1.2D). In addition, this requirement is subject to Distribution D Authority and under this market survey no technical data packages shall be provided. REQUIREMENTS: The minimum FMU-160/B HFF Fuze order expected in any one year will be no less than 1,000 fuzes and up to a maximum quantity of 10,000 Fuzes for each ordering period.Interested contractors should demonstrate that they possess the experience, capability, necessary equipment, facilities, and tooling required, or that they can obtain such, necessary to fabricate, assemble, test, and inspect the required quantities of Tactical Fuzes per the requirements identified above. This may include an indication of willingness to invest in setting up a required production line. Contractors shall provide a summary of their companys capabilities including parent organizations, name/address/point of contact identification, capabilities, a description of facilities/equipment, manufacturing processes, inspection capability, test capability, personnel, past experience as a manufacturer, proven monthly production capacity and/or potential capacity, possible partnering/teaming arrangements and whether the company is a large or small business. Such summary description of capability should address specific critical processes in the production of this legacy fuze.This market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government.
