Description
THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSAL AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT This Sources Sought is issued for the purpose of Market Research and to determine the appropriate Small Business Sourcing Strategy for this acquisition. Under the North American Industry Classification System Code 236220, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Health Care System (HCS) in Fargo, North Dakota has requirements for construction for CLC (TCU) Expansion and Remodeling. The project will involve a 14,920 gsf addition to the south end of Building 1 at second floor will be added and 14,033 gsf of existing space will be remodeled so that CLC (TCU) may be provided with private patient rooms. Existing CLC (TCU) areas would be completely gutted and remodeled. All utilities (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, sprinklers, fire alarm, etc) serving the existing CLC (TCU) space would be replaced since the area would be gutted and remodeled. The addition space would be provided with all new utilities. The windows in the existing space shall be reused since they are only a few years old and are energy efficient. Windows within the addition would be required to match the existing windows and contract document requirements. The exterior construction of the new addition shall be brick to match and blend with the adjacent buildings. The project must be accomplished by a qualified, experienced, professional general contracting firm with a, per contract, bonding ability of $10 million, minimum. The current estimated construction cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. NAICS Code and Title: 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Small Business Size Standard: $33.5 million All applicable small businesses, with a firm intention to bid on this project, are encouraged to respond. Interested small businesses shall submit detailed capability information on contracts they consider relevant in demonstrating their ability to perform all requirements of the. The statement of capabilities should include: 1)Firm name, address, e-mail, telephone and fax number. 2)Small businesses certification - 8(a), Hub Zone, Service Disabled Veteran or Woman-Owned. 3)Past Experience - describe your experience of similar type, size and complexity to that which is the subject of this sources sought. a.Provide a listing of the ten (10) most recent projects your firm has performed. b.Provide a listing of Medical Center construction experience, to include US Federal Governmental construction experience. c.The largest construction project your firm has completed as prime contractor. 4)A statement regarding your firm's ability to provide a, per contract, bonding of $10 million, minimum. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice can be either mailed to: Department Of Veterans Affairs, Fargo VA Health Care System, Contracting Office (Attn: Darryl Moon), 2101 Elm St, Fargo, ND 58102, or sent via email to darryl.moon@va.gov. All responses must be received no later than 18 January, 2012. If response is sent via email, vendor is responsible to confirm receipt as server limitations can restrict delivery of large files.
