- The Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, located at the Pentagon in Washington DC, has a requirement for extended preventative maintenance and warranty services on various graphics and engraving equipment located at the HQMC Reprographics Section in the Pentagon. The period of performance is one year. This announcement is a notice of intent to sole source the requirement under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and FAR 6.302-1 Other Than Full and Open Competition “ one responsible source. The applicable NAICS Code is 811310. Accordingly, the USMC Regional Contracting Office “ National Capital Region (RCO-NCR) at Quantico Marine Corps Base, VA, as supporting Contracting Office for HQMC, intends to award a sole source purchase order to TyrrellTech, Inc. of 9045-A Maier Rd., Laurel, MD 20723 to provide the extended preventative maintenance and warranty services on the following graphics and engraving equipment. This is an all or none requirement: Roland XC-540, 103, Serial Number ZX55817. Extended Service Plan. Roland XC-540, 101, Serial Number ZX55810. Extended Service Plan. Roland, Versa Camm/ VP-300i, Serial Number ZZ10608. GBC 3064WF Laminator, Serial Number TJ00379G. Service, Maintenance Extended Warranty, Basic 4 point service. The service does not cover replacement of rollers for cuts, etc. Electro Power Trim 165, Paper Trimmer, Serial Number 7831417Z10. Pump, Vacuum for Vision 1612 Engraver, Serial Number 5140909043001. EGX-350 ENGRAVER, Serial Number ZY22533 Vision 1612 Engraver, Serial Number 400217783M. One Year on-site maintenance agreement covering manufacturing defects only. Universal, VLS6.60 VersaLASER System, Laser Engraver, Serial Number XXX0032311105. Service, Maintenance. TyrrellTech is a local company in the National Capital Region that provided the previous year ™s maintenance support on all of HQMC ™s reprographics equipment. Its close proximity to the Pentagon enables it to perform on-site maintenance services whenever necessary in a 24 hour turn-around timeframe. The on-site services are performed either the same day or next day depending on the time of call. For example, if a request for service is placed before 12:00 noon, the Contractor is expected to provide service by 4:00 P.M. the same day. If the request is placed after 12:00 noon, the Contractor is expected to provide service no later than the next day. TyrrellTech provides unlimited on-site support, coverage for labor and parts, and phone services between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (all included in the maintenance agreement). Based on the prior year procurement and market research, TyrrellTech is the only company that can provide the unlimited maintenance services for all the above listed equipment and meet the required response time for continuity of military operations. This is particularly the case for the GBC 3064WF Laminator, a mission critical machine in support of the Section ™s mission to provide rapid and reliable support to the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The company must be within a 50 mile radius of the Pentagon and be able to respond to requests for service within the windows stated above. The majority of the above-listed equipment was originally purchased from TyrrellTech. The machines are from two to five years old and in good condition. TyrrellTech installed the machines and trained Government-user personnel on the proper way to use the machines. The company must be thoroughly knowledgeable in the operation and maintenance of all of the equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however firms that believe they can meet the requirement may provide a capability statement describing how they meet the requirement to the Contracting Officer. Capability statements, if received timely, will be considered; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The company must be a small business. Responses shall be emailed to Mr. John Martin, Contracting Officer, at john.p.martin5@usmc.mil so that they are received no later than 17 January 2012, 5:00 pm Eastern Time. Late responses will not be considered.
