- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Proposal (RFP) for DOCKSIDE Repairs to the USCGC BISCAYNE BAY. The acquisition will be solicited as a HUBZONE Business Set-Aside. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Proposal (RFP), on or about January 25, 2012. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFP release and all subsequent amendments. Please sign up for the Auto Notification service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The USCGC BISCAYNE BAY (WTGB 104) homeport is the ST. IGNACE, MI, GEOGRAPHICAL RESTRICTIONS: THE VESSEL'S HOMEPIER. The scope of the acquisition is to: Anticipated start date on or about 8 MAY 2012 through 12 JUNE 2012. The scope of the acquisition is to: (1) Chain Locker, Clean, (2) tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean, (3) Chain Locker, Inspect, (4) Tanks (MP Service), Inspect, (5) Tanks (Ballast) Clean and Inspect, (6) Boat Boom, Level 2 Inspect and Repair, (7) Sewage Vacuum Collection Tank, Clean and Inspect, (8) Deck Covering (Interior Wet), Renew, (9) Piping Insulation, Renew, (10) Anchor, Anchor Chain and Ground Tackle, Preserve 'Partial', (11) Deck Covering (Wet), Seal, (12) Vacuum Sewage Piping, Renewal, (13) Air Conditioning Unit, Inspect and Overhaul, (14) Sewage Piping, Clean and Flush. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures.
