Description
Per request of the Joint Program Executive Office, Joint Tactical Radio System, the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) Reference Implementation Laboratory (RIL) will host a WNW Interoperability Quicklook (WIQ) laboratory event at one of the Space and Naval Warfare System Centers (SSC). The objective of this event is to provide vendors the opportunity to test their platforms in a heterogeneous network and to serve as a cost-effective risk reduction exercise for upcoming networking waveform evaluation to be held as a part of the Army Network Integration Exercise at White Sands. The lab test is expected to include JTRS Program of Record (PoR) and non-JTRS PoR developers that are willing to provide suitable (i.e., suitable for integration and field use) WNW-capable hardware and necessary support personnel. Testing is expected to commence mid to late January 2012 at a JTRS lab located at either SSC-Atlantic (SSC-LANT, Charleston, SC) or at SSC-Pacific (SSC-PAC, San Diego, CA). Testing is expected to last two weeks and will be comprised of two phases. The first phase of testing will provide an evaluation of each vendors level of interoperability. If a vendor meets a pre-determined set of entrance criteria (to be provided with the test plans discussed below), the vendor will be allowed to participate in phase two of the WIQ. Phase two of testing will evaluate the stability and performance of a multi-vendor heterogeneous WNW network using encryption keys. A number of test cases will be designed and offered to participants at the event. Participants will be permitted to select the tests in which they wish to participate. Results of a particular vendors testing will not be provided to other vendors and proprietary information will be protected. The JTRS Enterprise Network Manager (JENM) will be used to create configurations for the AN/VRC-107 radio and a plain-text version of the Radio Mission Data set (RMDS) will be distributed to all participants for evaluation and integration prior to the test event. A cut sheet that specifies IP schema, frequency, and WNW configurations will be distributed with the RMDS prior to the event. Further details about test dates, resources required, location, scenarios, initial test plans and a questionnaire designed to provide the Government with information on the current standing of each vendors WNW capabilities, will be sent out by 9 January 2012 for vendor review and feedback. Interested parties should contact Brett Bendt at SSC-LANT (brett.bendt@navy.mil) no later than 9 January 2012 in order to receive a copy of this package. If you have any questions about anything contained in this notice, please contact Diane Thornewell at diane.thornewell@navy.mil.
