- Description
- This is a market survey to identify sources that could provide a custom optics system for the 46th Test Wing's Supersonic Airborne Tri-gimbaled Infrared System (SATIRS) pod. The minimum specifications and unique restrictions for the apparatus are listed below. Minimum Requirements for the custom optics: • The contractor shall develop an optical system (to include any protective coverings) that provides transmissivity greater than 75% from 1.7 µm to 4.8 µm in the electromagnetic spectrum. • The optics must be compatible with a FLIR SC6000 imaging system. Candidates must have a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with FLIR Systems. • The 46th Test Wing intends to acquire two optics systems to match the different optics speeds of the SC6000. One system must be less than or equal to F/4.1, while the other system must be less than or equal to F/2.5. • The optics system must have a focal length no less than 200 mm. • The diameter of the entire optics system must be less than or equal to 4.820 inches. The total length of the entire optical system must be less than or equal to 5.00 inches when the throw of the focus is extended. • If the contractor proposes a reflective optics system, then the optics head must have a protective cover and be airworthy (to be used in flight). • The optics system should be single field of view (SFOV). The focus must be manually adjustable. A locking ring or locking pin for the focus is desirable but not required. • The optical system must be able to accommodate 1 inch, 2 mm thick neutral density or band pass filters. All responses should be submitted to Robin L. Gibson, Contracting Officer, via email ( robin.gibson@eglin.af.mil ) by the specified response date. If more technical information is needed, please contact Paul B. Molony, 850-882-9023.
