- Description
- RFIs from potential vendors and responses to RFIs. •1. 1) The SOW does not specifically address the starter and alternator. Is it acceptable to remanufacture the starter and alternator by the NMWR standards and apply them to the remanufactured engine? On the attachment titled "HET_M1070_BOM_TACOM_MRP.xlsx", the starter and alternator are listed and broken down into individual components. Each component is handled in accordance with this guidance. As long as the NMWR standard is applied and followed and the documentation is retained to support this work, the NMWR standard is acceptable. 2) Are remanufactured fuel injectors acceptable to use as part of the BOM? Please reference the NMWR and the attachment to the solicitation titled "HET_M1070_BOM_TACOM_MRP.xlsx" 3) The SOW states that engines and transmissions will be received in 'various states of repair'. If a received core has missing parts (not MRP) and/or cracked housing/blocks, will the GOV provide replacements for these components or is the contractor expected to replace them at their expense? If the dollar value is estimated to be less than $250 per engine / transmission, the contractor will be expected to replace at their expense. If the estimated value is to be greater than $250, the contractor must contact the contracting office for approval prior to commencing work. This will be funded as either a seperate contract or as a new CLIN against the existing contract. 4) Will the Government provide an inspector to oversee the Control Test conducted quarterly or does the contractor run the 50-hour test and report the results? The contractor provides documentation of the test prior to delivery at RSMS. 5) Does the contractor need to ensure the 50-hour test time is built into the normal delivery schedule or does the control test occur outside the confines of the delivery schedule? Yes. please see question above.
