Description
The Bureau of Public Debt, on behalf of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) intends to award an Order to SyBase Inc. on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1, for Annual End of Life Renewal Product Support. Market Research conducted revealed that although there are re-sellers on GSA that sell Sybase software, only Sybase itself can provide the extension EOL Sybase software. Sybase decided to stop support for the Replication Server, Replication Agent (LTM) technology on January 28, 2012. Under the GSA Contract, companies can announce end of life for a product and then stop support a year later. Sybase put out the announcement on their website in January 2011. OCC cannot put a new technology into production by January 28, 2012, therefore we need to request "extended support". The OCC Examiner View application employs a data extract capability that enables remote disconnected bank examiners the ability to perform examinations and access the data necessary to carry out the mission. As stated only Sybase Federal itself can provide the extension EOL Sybase software. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by December 7, 2011 by 12:00am ET. Responses shall be submitted to PSB3@bpd.treas.gov, Attention B. Cooper/P. White. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Interested offerors may register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to receive notification when the solicitation and any amendments are issued and available for downloading. Please note that the General Services Administration provides the notification service as a convenience and does not guarantee that notifications will be received by all persons on the mailing list. Therefore, we recommend that you monitor the FedBizOpps site for all information relevant to desired acquisitions. Responses to this request can be emailed to psb3@pbd.treas.gov - Attention: Brian Cooper/Paul White.
