- Background MCB Camp Lejeune has Government owned (GFE) washing machines and dryers (also referred to as appliances) located at multiple locations throughout Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, Camp Gieger, Camp Johnson, and Stone Bay. The services required are for on-site repair, maintenance, installation, replacement, relocation, and removal of various types of washers and dryers, (including installation and disconnection of appliances) within the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQs) located throughout the bases. SCOPE This is a Firm-Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Requirements Type contract for a base year plus 4 option years. All work shall be performed by qualified mechanics and shall be performed in accordance with best commercial practices. The contractor must have the necessary equipment available for the satisfactory execution of any repair job, including but not limited to: transportation, hand tools, gauges, gas detection equipment, vehicles, and lubricants. Speed Queen, Whirlpool, and Kenmore are some of the manufacturers of the appliances, there could be other manufactures. The current estimated inventory of government owned washers and dryers are: double stacked dryers with projected total of 622, single washers (top load) with projected total of 766, and single dryers with a projected total of 205 located in a max of 48 buildings. The projected quantities are from 2011 to 2013 years with the new BEQs currently scheduled, however this number may be larger or smaller. Responses to this RFI should not exceed twenty (20) pages and must contain the following information: a capability statement and service history. Responses are due by 18 November 2011. NOTE: This Request for Information is for planning purposes only and is issued in accordance with FAR Clause 52.215-3. No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this RFI, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information that the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such.
