Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 48'HEMISPHERICAL DOMES. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. Thisnotice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendmentwill not be issued.The purpose of this amendment is to:1) change the selection criteria to include past performance. Changes to the selectioncritera can be found at: http://procurement.jsc.nasa.gov/NNJ12412324/Solicitation-Amd-1.docx 2) answer questions received from industry.3) update JSC drawing #36153711. The updated drawing can be found at:http://procurement.jsc.nasa.gov/NNJ12412324/TANK-Revised.pdf QuestionsQ1:What is the diameter of the hole shown at the top of the dome? A1:The hole is required to be less than 2 and can be as small as 1/8 inch (see updateddrawing).Q2:Is the height of the dome 24.000 inches? A2:Yes. Q3:For the height of the dome, can we have a tolerance of greater than +/-0.010? A3:Yes, the drawing has been updated to allow +/-0.020 inches (see updated drawing) Q4:If the dimension of the base is 48.000 +/-0.010 and height is 24.000 +???, is there atolerance on the radius other than at those 2 locations? A4:The tolerance would be the same as the top, 24.000 +/-0.020. Q5:Is it required that the dome be manufactured from 1 continuous sheet of aluminum? A5:Yes. It is required that the hemi be 1 continuous sheet of parent material, withoutany fusion welds.Q6:Can the dome be welded from multiple pieces? A6:It is required that the hemi be 1 continuous sheet of parent material, without anyfusion welds.Q7:Can the dome be bolted together from multiple pieces? A7:The domes cannot be bolted together. These domes are for a pressure vessel.Q8:Can you provide a description of the application? A8:These domes are for a pressure vessel. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to 1:00 p.m. local time on November 7,2011. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on October 21, 2011. Documents related to thisprocurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web(WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
