Description
Federal Business Opportunities Information Date: 2011 October 28 SOLICITATION NO. W9128F-12-B-0002 On or about Nov 14 2011, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Emergency Streambank Protection, Section 14, Jamestown, North Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about Dec 14 2011. This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION There will not be a formal site visit for this project. The site is located on public property and Contractors are welcome to view the site at anytime. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See 'Obtaining Solicitation Documents' below. _______________________________________________________________________________ Project Description: (Approx. quantities) This project consists of placing 425 feet of stone-toe revetment or riprap along the south bank of the James River and a 50 foot of windrow refusal in Jamestown, ND near the legion Baseball field. The revetment structure would consist of quarried stone, placed parallel to the flow of the river. Some bank material would be removed, reshaped and/or trucked in as a borrow to backfilled behind the new rock structure system. The reworked side slope of the river bank would be sloped back to the bank line to form a smooth transition. The stone then would be placed in a toe section with upper bank protection. A 2-foot blanket of stone would be used to armor the entire slope for the first 12 feet of the slope. The upstream end of the revetment requires a 50-foot windrow refusal. A refusal is stone placed in a trench, excavated landward from the riverbank approximately perpendicular to the stream flow at the upstream end of the revetment. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$150,000 and $250,000. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.
