- Description
- SUBJECT: Request for Information (RFI) Regarding National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF) Prompt Diagnostics (PD) Concept Development 1. The Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), Division of Analysis and Requirements (XPZ), Patrick Air Force Base, Florida is seeking information from interested parties capable of developing options and down-selecting to an optimal system of PD sensors capable of satisfying NTNF requirements. 2. Given a nuclear detonation (NUDET) designed/conducted with the goal of obscuring or misdirecting identification of responsible parties, NTNF is focused on providing information supporting a subsequent investigation. The primary event of interest is an atmospheric NUDET; therefore, the prompt observables include radiation (gamma, X-ray, neutron and fluorescence), RF, light, heat and shock. The goal of this RFI is the identification of sources for the development of an effective diagnostic system (sensor suite and concept of operation) for capturing features from a NUDET and capable of meeting lead federal agency requirements. 3. Response Information: This RFI is being conducted for information and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a request for proposal or a request for quote. Information contained in this RFI is based on the best information available at the time of publication, is subject to revision and is not binding on the Government. The information received will be considered for the purposes of market research. 4. This RFI is unrestricted and encourages responses from all responsible contractors independent of size. 5. All responses are to be provided electronically in Microsoft Word or Adobe Portable Document Format. Unclassified responses are preferred; however if there is a need for classified transmittals please contact the point of contact below. All routine communications concerning this announcement should be directed to the point of contact listed below. The due date for receipt of email responses to this announcement is Oct 25, 1630 EST. Interested companies are requested to submit their responses electronically (via e-mail) to Patricia.Bosinger@patrick.af.mil. The point of contact for this announcement is Ms. Patricia Bosinger, Contract Specialist, AFISRA/A7KRA 1030 South Highway A1A, Bldg 989, Patrick AFB, FL 32925-3002, (321) 494-0998.
