Description
The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity- North, Fort Detrick, MD, intends to negotiate a Sole Source commercial item procurement with AGFA Healthcare, Greenville, SC, to provide a quantity of one Vidar Diagnostic PRO Advantage Film Digitizer to the USAF 9th MDG, Beale AFB, CA. This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than November 1, 2011, noon local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Point of contact Jessica Ely, Contract Specialist, e-mail: Jessica.ely@us.army.mil The following verbiage is directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6). The procurement of the digitizer will expand on the capabilities and integrate with the existing systems, components, and equipment to allow the 9th Medical Group to standardize its systems. The digitzer must be purchased from AGFA Healthcare due to proprietary software licenses. No other software can be used with the current PACS system at Beale AFB. The Air Force Medical Operations Agency, AFMOA, has directed the 9th MDG that currently AGFA's software is the only software for this use that is DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) approved. The only vendor found able to supply the requested equipment is the manufacturer, AGFA Healthcare.
