- Description
- SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions. This sources sought is for A&E Services for the Detailed Construction Design of Building 751 Renovation Project. Below is a brief description of propossed efforts. If you are an interested firm, please register on FBO as an interested source. 1.1. The following Statement of Work describes the requirements for professional engineering services for the B751 Renovation Project, which includes renovation of the existing B751 First Floor raised floor areas, both East and West cores, and Machine Shop areas, adding a new Mezzanine or Second Floor above the existing high-bay Machine Shop area, and remodeling the associated Second Floor West stairwell core as required, all within B751 and B750. Provide Construction grade Drawings and Specifications for this Statement of Work using the attached Conceptual Design Report (CDR) as the basis of design. Provide engineering calculations and field verify existing dimensions and conditions to support the new design; verify existing equipment and services are adequate to support the new renovations; and select new equipment, services, devices, and connections as required. 1.2. Provide a complete, detailed package to minimize any field discrepancies to expedite the Construction Schedule. Provide Architectural; Mechanical; Controls; Electrical; Plumbing; Fire Protection and Fire Alarms, which will also require a Design/Build, Deferred Submittal during Construction; and Structural design services as a minimum. Submit Construction Design Documents at 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% completion for SLAC review, comments, and approval. Incorporate all SLAC review comments including SLAC's Building Inspection Office (BIO) and Facilities Operations' after each submission and finally produce the "Issued for Construction" documents. Provide a Design Schedule with Request for Proposal (RFP); a detailed Design Schedule after award; and two (2) Construction Cost Estimates. Provide phasing of the work, as the area is currently occupied and the tight Construction Schedule will require tasks to be performed in parallel to allow usage of the Lab areas by or before 9/28/12. 1.3. Include all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services needed to perform all the design, reviews, field verification of dimensions and existing conditions, responses to comments, printing, and construction observations for this Statement of Work, or that may be reasonably inferred as being necessary for the completion and for the intended use of all items of this renovation work.
