- This is not a request for quote; this is a notice of the government's intent to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists (MAES), 2437 Bay Area Blvd, #100, Houston, Texas, 77058 pursuant to FAR PART 13.106-1 (b)(1), only one source is capable of responding to satisfy the agency's requirements. The Washington Headquarters Service, Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD) intends to purchase the service of MAES for access to approximately 10 Career/College Recruitment Fair events throughout the United States. MAES is the sole source for promoting education, civic participation, and leadership development for Latinos and other similarly disenfranchised groups. For additional details concerning the requirement, refer to service description below. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by 12: 00 PM 7 November 2011, EST by email to eric.darby@whs.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 813920 with a size standard of 14.0 million. Service Description: MAES shall support the Department of Defense Civilian Equal Employment Opportunity, Military Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policies and programs by providing the following: Over a one year period MAES will provide the Department of Defense access to approximately 10 Career/College Recruitment Fair events (attachment A) throughout the United States. The program will consist of high school and college students in the range of 300-500. The Department of Defense engagement strategy will consist of the following: Keynote speakers at marquee events Access to High School/College students DoD representation/co-sponsor events Access to influencers in education and STEM Attendance at Selected VIP Functions to build influencer base Recognition as a Co-Sponsor of Events Exhibit/booth space Passes to the Sponsored Function to promote contact and communication Advertisements in Convention/Conference Programs Logo prominently displayed at Sponsored Function
