Description

RECOVERY - This notice is issued in accordance with the guidance for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Purchase Order # SB1341-10-SU-1032 was awarded to Veeco Process Equipment, Inc. of St. Paul, MN on September 16, 2010, in the amount of $1,872,500.00 to purchase a Molecular Beam Epitaxy System to include installation and on-site training at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), 100 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20899. Modification to Purchase Order # SB1341-10-SU-1032 was issued on September 30, 2010 in the amount of $394,400.00.00 to exercise option line items 0006, 0009, and 0012. The total amount of the order was increased by $394,400.00 from $1,872,500.00 to $2,266,900.00. Modification to Purchase Order # SB1341-10-SU-1032 was issued on December 21, 2010 in the amount of $122,100.00 to exercise option line items 0007, 0010, and 0011. The total amount of the order was increased by $122,100.00 from $2,266,900.00 to $2,389,000.00. The purpose of this notice is to identify a pending modification to Purchase Order SB1341-10-SU-1032 for an in-scope change to the installation requirements of the purchase order for safety reasons. The NIST Safety Office required a re-routing of piping, additional safety training for the installers of the piping, and additional air ducts. The modification will be negotiated on a sole source basis.
