- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, as applicable, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.The solicitation number is VA-69D-12-Q-0014 and is issued as an invitation for bids (IFB), unless otherwise indicated herein.The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-53. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339999 with a small business size standard of 500.00 employees.This requirement is unrestricted and only qualified offerors may submit bids.The solicitation pricing on www.FedBid.com will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on 2011-10-21 15:00:00.0 Eastern Time or as otherwise displayed at www.FedBid.com.FOB Destination shall be Crown Point, IN 46307 The VHA VISN 12 - 69D - GLAC - Milwaukee, WI requires the following items, Brand Name or Equal, to the following: LI 001, All artwork to be custom printed photography on photographic paper of patriotic, military & regional imagery in full color No pixelation or blurred images are permitted Image size 22? x 28? Frame ? solid wood, no veneers, no MDF, no plastic, no metal Profile ? RS -247, 2-1/2? wide x 1 1/16? high Finish ? furniture grade to Match Kimball office Furniture ? ?Cordovan? ? no substitutions of deviations allowed. Joinery ? all corners glued & fastened from the underside to eliminate visible fasteners in corners. Miters are 90 degree angles with no more than 1/64? acceptable gap. Lamination ? dry mount method with tissue to eliminate any wrinkle or warpage in the mounted artwork. Mounting ? 3/16? foam board is the substrate. Glazing ? non-glare acrylic minimum.080? thick. Prevents UV light from damaging and fading artwork & matting over time. Dustproof cover ? all units will be paperbacked to prevent both dirt and debris from entering the sealed unit. Hanging hardware ? 3 point security mounting hardware will be attached to the back of the frame & the additional wall mounting portion of the hardware will be supplied along with a security mounting wrench to attach the ?T? Screw to the wall., 44, EA; LI 002, Custom printed collage mural with USA flag blowing in the wind as background and foreground populated with images of veterans past & present with men and women as well as different ethnicities. File to be minimum 800 Mb file size due to overall size of background image of USA blowing in the breeze. The glass should be tempered using low iron content known as PPG?s Starfire or ?Water White?. The design will be second surface carved to a total depth of 25% - 50% of the glass thickness to achieve the desired bright white appearance from the refraction of the LEDs. Frame ? Solid wood (no MDF or synthetic materials) frame 2? thick carved glass fitted with LEDS to be recessed.173? into the surrounding wood frame., 8, EA; LI 004, Individual Decorative Glass Fixtures in the form of letters. We would like a sample of the glass carved lettering & the chrome. The fixtures are a unit of (each) because they are individual glass pieces. They should be mounted on the wall with overall size 12" x 12" x 3/8" thick produced from low iron content clear glass with flat polished edges on all sides. The edges of the glass will be clear not green (the green color indicates a high iron content glass & decreases the pure white appearance of the carved logo as it is lit by 5500K white light from the LEDs). No color required for this sample of carved glass.
