Description
IBRF Fillable Survey Table DATE: October 7, 2011 SUBJECT: Request for Information (RFI) regarding working with the National Bioenergy Center’s Integrated Biorefinery Facility (IBRF) (http://www.nrel.gov/biomass/integrated_biorefinery_research_facility.html). PURPOSE: This RFI seeks to solicit feedback from industry, academia, and other stakeholders on methods of collaborating and using the facilities and capabilities available in the IBRF at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). NREL is particularly interested in how industry members could get value out of using this facility. Parties interested in participating in an IBRF-related activity now have the opportunity to indicate their interest and intent through the questions listed below. All feedback received will be kept confidential and will not be disclosed. This RFI is not for technical proposals or proposed work, but rather a request to provide NREL with information that will help to make the IBRF a more useful and valuable resource. KEY DATES: This RFI is open for response from October 7 through November 4, 2011. ABOUT THE IBRF: The IBRF at NREL is operated by the National Bioenergy Center (NBC). This unique partnership facility enables industry and university colleagues to work closely with NBC experts and scientists on integrated, state-of-the-art equipment to answer relevant questions related to the conversion of biomass to intermediates, chemicals, and fuels. The goal of the IBRF is to foster innovation in the advanced biofuels and bioproducts industries that will dramatically reduce production costs and time to market. The IBRF is designed to accelerate the advancement of promising new feedstocks, technologies, processing techniques, and unit operations by providing access to unique expertise and advanced equipment and laboratories. The IBRF has been designed to accommodate, test, and evaluate new technologies and processes being developed by third parties. For more information on the capabilities of the IBRF, please visit the IBRF website at http://www.nrel.gov/biomass/integrated_biorefinery_research_facility.html. Return this feedback in an MS Word document or PDF no later than November 4, 2011, for inclusion in the IBRF analysis. Input received after this date will be retained, but not included in the analysis of this RFI. All correspondence concerning this RFI should be sent to: Email: richard.bolin@nrel.gov Phone: Richard Bolin, 303-384-7716 DISCLAIMER AND IMPORTANT NOTES: This is an RFI issued solely for information and program planning purposes; it does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or abstracts.
