Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), Quantico, VA 22134 intends to award a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, contract to Trijicon, Inc., 49385 Shafer Ave., Wixom, MI 48393-2869 (Cage Code: 0FL29) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This intent is subject to final approval in accordance with FAR 6.304. The proposed contract action is a follow-on contract to procure two (2) variants of the legacy rifle combat optic (RCO): (1) AN/PVQ-31A, NSN: 1240-01-525-1648; (2) AN/PVQ-31B, NSN: 1240-01-534-1114. The Marine Corps has previously purchased approximately 210,000 RCO ™s that have been fielded and are in current use in the operating forces. Trijicon ™s RCO optics are the only optics known to meet the Marine Corps requirement of having an illuminated reticle that is visible under all environmental conditions without the use of batteries. Trijicon is the sole producer of the RCO system. The estimated magnitude of the contract value is approximately $23.4M. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 333314, Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data, and past performance data for this requirement, no later than 15 days after this posting. White papers should be submitted to Mr. Jaime Arias, Marine Corps Systems Command, 2200 Lester Road, Quantico, VA 22134, or by email to Jaime.arias@usmc.mil; and copy patsy.d.stefan@usmc.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone calls will not be honored.
