Description
The SUAS Product Office has a requirement to procure FY 12 Puma AECV CLS via letter contract modification to an existing contract. The FY 12 CLS services will provide required sustainment support of fielded/deployed Puma AECV systems. The CLS effort will include hardware repair and replacement, software support, inspection, safety, reliability, failure analysis, data collection and readiness reporting. The period of performance will be one year from date of award. The anticipated award date is 14 October 2011. Once the letter contract modification is definitized, an option to procure a quantity of 24 Puma Systems and Initial Spares Packages (ISPs) will be incorporated as well as an option to procure additional CLS to support the 24 Puma Systems. The options will be available for option exercise for one year from date of award. The Puma Systems and ISPs options will be available to exercise for the Army, Foreign Military Sales and Other Government Agencies. The base effort as well as the options are anticipated to be Sole Source to AeroVironment, Inc. Simi Valley, CA. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
