Description
Introduction: Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the Shelters Technology, Engineering & Fabrication Directorate (STEFD ), intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to: HDT Tactical Systems, Inc. of Solon, OH 44139-2739 THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. No solicitation document is available. 1. The Nature and description of the supplies or services required to meet the agency's needs: The fan filter assembly is an electronically driven fan that forces potentially contaminated air through Chemical Biological filers to provide "clean" air to the interior of AMEDD Small Shelter (A2S) and maintains overpressure in the A2S. 2.A demonstration that the proposed contractor is the only source available to provide these services or goods (i.e. unique qualifications, proprietary rights, etc.): is that the Fan Filter assembly that is being procured must be compatible with the Collectively Protected Expeditionary Medical Facility CP-EMF that is scheduled for fielding in the near future. This component manufactured by this supplier has been tested as part of the CP-EMF program. 3.Market research has been conducted and currently, no compatible items have been identified from other sources and would require an extensive re-test effort to determine if the alternate is suitable for use under all environmental conditions. 4.Interested parties may identify their to the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division via e-mail to: Kendall.a.leibman@us.army.mil no later than 5:00 PM (EST) on Sept 25, 2011.
