- Description
- New Space Opportunities. This award is for a one year BPA with two one year options possible. The maximum value ofthis contract is $600,000. The first BPA call awarded under this BPA is NNA11AD05D whichwill be publicized under its own announcement. The original solicitation was competed under GSA special item numbers 874 and 871together. A contractor was required to possess schedules on both SINs to propose. Description of the BPA requirement is as follows:To leverage global changes for NASA's benefit requires that NASA improve its ability toidentify, analyze, and evaluate global space trends and new opportunities. Market forces, economics, stakeholder communications, and business models are all important evaluationconsiderations. The resultant increase in understanding and information will informfuture NASA decisions and strategies regarding choice of individual initiatives, collaborators and partners, application of scarce resources, and portfolio optimization. In order to begin the process of identifying these new opportunities, and to supportNASAs goal of keeping ahead of the trend in space research / exploration, it isnecessary to evaluate the global market. The beginning stages of entering into newopportunities require continued market research and evaluation of business trends todetermine the feasibility of entering any particular scientific endeavor. This BlanketPurchase Agreement (BPA) and related task orders will be essential in allowing NASA todetermine what will the best course of action with respect to these opportunities. Thespacecraft industry, technology in the US space industry, economic analysis, andinteractions with the commercial satellite sector all must be researched and analyzed toensure NASAs continued success and excellence in space.
