Description
On 16 September, 2011, we conducted a site visit for Well 12 and Well 8 repair projects. We went to Well 12 first and I showed them what was needed at this site. I explained to Contractors that the Well capacity was at 700 GPM when it was running properly and that gradually the capacity dropped to about 10 GPM and did not bring water up to surface anymore. I suggested that it was due to pump failure. I turned Well on so they could see what it was doing and so they could see it was not an Electrical problem, but a mechanical problem. I also requested that they quote for a 2 inch PVC air line be installed so we can get more data for levels and other important data for Geologist to study Aquifer due to its levels decreasing at a rapid pace without be replenished. I also requested that the Contractor would be responsible for Well disinfection and the Sanitary seal for Well. We then proceed to Well 8 where I requested to quote these two Wells separately, due to a Warranty electrical issue presently being worked with Well Contractor that installed the pump this past year. One Contractor asked if they could spec a 100 HP pump if it met requirements and I said yes if they met all requirements. I requested that they be responsible for Sanitary seal and let them know that 2 inch air line was already in this Well. I told them that the Government Electricians had tested all electrical thru the VFD Control panel and it was all good. I mentioned that it was an electrical problem at this Well and the pump was showing an electrical short to ground which meant that the Well pump was bad. The Contractor will be responsible for disinfection of Well after re-installation. The Gov, will be responsible for pumping water out to a tank on Golf Course and blend it with other water for use at golf course. Gov. will have Environment personnel get sample and send to State Certified Lab for bacteriological test required by State of New Mexico. Both Well request for camera test and a DVD for both Wells. Both Wells should be in operation after completion of contract for repairs.
