- Description
- The following questions and their responses are posted below: 1. When can we get the floor plans and other drawings, including current system one-lines? R1. Current one lines and floor plan can be made available from GSA. 2. Section 1.2 lists "(6) ceiling speakers", then below states "-Amplifier (run 8 ceiling speakers and 2 wall mounted speakers). James stated that the ceiling speakers shall be used for local microphone reinforcement which will require a "voice lift", or what we would call a "mix-minus" distributed audio system that will require at least 8 ceiling speakers to provide proper coverage. Is eight the desired number? R2. Current SOW states six ceiling speakers, If contractors proposed solution is eight speakers for proper cover and can meet the voice lift requirement. Contractor can bid eight ceiling speakers. 3. Section 14 lists "Lighting Controls". i. What is the make and model of the existing lighting system? Ri.- AMX FG5795-01 White Wall Switches QTY:2 AMX FG606-11 RDA-ENC4 Enclosure QTY:1 AMX FG606-01 RDC-DC/120 Radia Control Card 6 channel dimmer QTY:1 AMX FG606-22 RDD-DM6/120 Module QTY:1 AMX FG606-22 RDM-6EM Module QTY:1 ii. What functions are required; presets, on/off, dimmer controls.etc. Rii-Presets, Dimming and full range lighting controls iii. Is the existing source code for the AMX system available? Riii- Yes source code is available 4. Section 18 states that whenever possible existing cabling should be reutilized. We're assuming that this is a typo. While on the walkthrough James told me that you would like to replace all cabling, and upgrade the infrastructure to utilize a CAT 5e or CAT 6 type of video system to prepare for other future upgrades, and the equipment list also includes such equipment. Can you clarify if you would like us to propose a completely digital twisted pair solution? R4. The if contractor wants to reuse any cabling they can. Contractor can propose any solution as long as it meets DVI/HDMI standards and can be fully upgraded if technology changes. If contracts solution calls for new cabling government will remove all old cabling. 5. Section 21 and 22 discuss Warranty Response time and Warranty of repair work, but an overall system warranty time is not discussed. Is a certain warranty length required? R5. Contractors warranty is 90 days from government sign off, contractor can extend his workmanship warranty after the 90 days. Clarification: Rooms actual number is 1-1-4, There is only one projector, no smart board in room 6. The RFP calls for an input from the podium. As the system sits now, there is a PC in the podium and a laptop input. Both of these inputs feed and auto switch in the podium and then there is only one output from the podium to the video switcher. There is also a quantity of six DMC-C DigitalMedia cards on the BOM, which is only enough for one podium input. While at the walkthrough James said that you would like two separate inputs from the podium. How many inputs should we put on the proposal? R6: The Build of materials (BOM) is a baseline of what a contractor proposed. The only items in that baseline, that are mandatory is the TANDBERG/CISCO equipment. In STANDARD Network System Line 8: Conference Room HDMI/DVI/RGB Video - There shall be a total of eight DVI/RGB/Audio source locations made available for display. One location shall be located at the Moderator desk, one shall be located at the podium, four shall be located at the conference table and two shall be made available for extra inputs. An HDMI/DVI/RBG Video Processing, Audio/Video matrix switcher or a designated equivalent with audio follow shall be installed. Required response date is now 22 Sep 2011 at 4:30 PM Eastern.
