Description
This action will result in a modification to the current Contract, HQ0034-08-C-1052, with VECTOR TECHNOLOGIES LLC., 1331 S EADS STREET SUITE 714, Arlington, VA 22202. It should be noted that the contractor is performing on-site at the 1155 Defense Pentagon, Washington, DC 20301, using to detection and neutralization of a variety of hostile penetration technologies that are used to obtain unauthorized access to classified and sensitive information. Currently VECTOR TECHNOLOGIES LLC is the only known contractor with the knowledge and understanding to execute these services with Agilent certified personnel. The Government will negotiate directly with VECTOR TECHNOLOGIES LLC on a sole source basis under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is being posted since this option under FAR 52.217-8 was not previously evaluated as part of the initial contract award for HQ0034-08-C-1052. This option exercise will be at the current rates specified in the current contract, as allowed by FAR 52.217-8, and will extend the period of performance end date from October 01, 2011 to March 31, 2012. Due to the classified nature of certain aspects of this requirement, additional time is required to award a new follow-on contract and the failure to exercise services would result in disruption of services to TCU detection. The Government would experience unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements if this option was not exercised before the current contract expiration date. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement specific to exercise of the option under FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred by interested parties in preparation of information or documents related to this option exercise. A determination by the Government to exercise the aforementioned option clause and not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to exercise the option. Any responses to this notice of contract action shall be submitted to Valerie Green at: valerie.green@whs.mil no later than September 26, 2011 by 09:00 PM EST.
