- Small Business Event, 2011 Kansas Business Matchmaker Flyer The Wichita office and event co-sponsors are anticipating 300 small businesses and approximately 100 buyers from government agencies and prime contractors. Purchasing representatives from federal agencies and organizations like Boeing, Spirit Aerosystems, Hawker Beechcraft, the City of Wichita, Sedgwick County and Wichita Public Schools have indicated plans to attend. Breakout sessions in core areas integral for strong and growing businesses will also be offered at the conference. Topics such as financing, exporting, government contracting, SBA Business Development Programs, aerospace purchasing requirements, and innovation are planned. Your involvement will provide you with the opportunity to strategically discuss your company's goods and services with prospective buyers. In addition, there will be business resource partners on site to connect with throughout the day. It is our hope that you give this invitation every consideration. Event Information The 2011 Kansas Business Matchmaker is a unique event where small businesses, including small disadvantaged businesses within rural and urban communities with owners who are women, minorities, veterans, among others, meet with buyers of goods and services from the public and private sectors. The on-line registration fee to attend is $50.00 per person, which includes a boxed lunch and an extensive personalized information package. Admission at the door will be $70.00. Buyers will be on hand for one-on-one meetings with small businesses. Buyers come from city, state, county and federal agencies, as well as prime contractors and other organizations with combined purchasing budgets representing millions of dollars. Small businesses ("Sellers") pre-register for the event as well, inputting their individual NAICS codes. (You may identify your NAICS code(s) by searching keywords at http://www.census.gov/eos/www/naics/.) Buyer-Seller Meetings last approximately 10 minutes and are available on a first-come first-served basis. These meetings present an opportunity for Buyers and Sellers to discuss specific projects, capabilities, and mutual interests. There is also extensive opportunity throughout the day to network or visit resource partners.
