- Location: Northlands Job Corps Academy 100A MacDonough Drive Vergennes, VT 05491 Site Contact: Mr. Denis Dalley Maintenance Supervisor (802) 877-0136 Project: Due to recent flooding, repairs are needed in the lower level of Building 04 (Gym), the CPP Classrooms and Dorm 20 Storage Room. Scope of Work: GYM Aerobics Room: Remove existing wood floor framing and dispose of. Remove VCT installed under wood framing and dispose of. Re-anchor wall separating aerobics from weight room securely to the floor, adjusting door entries for no step, (raised floor to be replaced with ‘Selecteck' type flooring). Remove and replace existing sheetrock, as needed. Re-install mirrors that were removed. Paint throughout. Weight Room: Remove existing VCT and dispose of, north half of room. Remove existing wall sheathing up to a height of 32" on west wall, and 4' on the east wall office area, replace with material to match existing. Prep floor for replacement of black interlocking floor mats in main area of room. Paint all walls and ceiling. Remove and replace drinking fountain into crafts room. Craft Room: Remove all water stained wood sheathing from south wall and install new to match existing. Remove and replace, and paint all sheetrock in storage closets. Remove VCT. Paint walls and ceilings. Install new double drop sink with counter. Recreation Office and Adjacent Hall: Remove and replace VCT. Remove existing wall materials up to 48" above floor, replace with new material to match existing. Paint walls and ceiling. Kiln Room: Remove existing wall sheathing as needed and replace with new wall sheathing. Paint walls and ceiling. Paint floors. Halls and Locker Rooms: Remove existing wall sheathing as needed and replace with new wall sheathing. Paint walls and ceiling and cement flooring deck grey. Mechanical Room and Boiler Room: Remove and replace wall sheathing and insulation up to a level of 4'. Paints walls and ceiling Gloss White cleanable surface paint. Paint cement floors deck grey. BUILDING 3, CPP CLASSROOMS 1. Closed Cell Foam: Spray all exterior walls with 3" of closed cell foam to stop water seepage through foundation 2. Walls: Replace all drywall where removed with 5/8" type x GWB 3. Insulation: Replace insulation where removed with new fiberglass insulation. 4. Paint: Tape and paint all areas to match existing DORMITORY 20 STORAGE ROOM Demo: Remove all drywall and insulation to the 4' mark above finished floor in areas affected from the flood and dispose of. Prep: Clean all metal framing members with a bleach water solution. 1. Repair: Replace all insulation that was removed with materials similar to existing. Replace all drywall that was removed with 5/8" fire rated drywall where removed. 2. Finishes: Tape all drywall joints with three coats of joint compound and sand smooth to accept paint. Prime all wall surfaces once coat. Paint all wall surfaces floor to ceiling with two coats of paint. Pricing assumes one color per room. Replace any necessary trim and baseboard that was removed during demo to match existing. 3. Cleaning: Final cleaning of all areas that were exposed to the construction process. ` General Conditions All contractors working at the Northlands Job Corps Academy are required to sign in and out each day. Work shall be completed in a professional manner. Vehicles entering and exiting the center are subject to search. Work may be scheduled between the hours of 8:00am - 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Bid proposal to include breakout of material, labor and mark-up. Bidders to include a projected timeline for project start and completion with bid submittal. Upon award of bid contractor must submit revised project schedule within 7 days. There should be no un-necessary interaction between contractor and the Northlands Job Corps Center students. Contractors must dress appropriately and visitor's badges must be worn. Tools and material must be secured at the end of each day. All contractors are subject to the Northlands Job Corps Center rules and regulations for work at this site. Contractor will adhere to FAR regulations in place at the time of award. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. All changes orders must be approved by Purchasing Coordinator in advance. Work needs to be completed by this fall, if possible. The bid will be awarded based upon price, timing of completion and other factors. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 3PM at Northlands Job Corps Academy in the Administrative building conference room on the second level of the building. Bids are due Friday September 30, 2011 by 5PM at the office of the Administrative Manager on the third level of the same building.
