Description
In an effort to provide additional information concerning what types of recreations might be included in the solicitation for the Renovation of Building 2 in Phase III so that interested offerors may adequately address their relevant experience; the Government wishes to provide some examples of the possible various types of "activity modules". Specifics to the recreation facilities will be further described within the solicitiation package which will be posted at a later date. The response time has also been extended from Tuesday, September 20th to Wednesday, September 21st. Indoor recreational activities include both active and passive categories. Mandatory Facilities: • ACTIVE RECREATION : All active recreation areas are considered noisy. Gymnasium : It includes a high school size basketball court and is usable as a multi-purpose assembly room. Avoid unnecessary foot traffic in the basketball court to prolong its useful life; provide design solutions to prevent students from bringing in mud, dirt, and water by walking in directly from the fields. Weight Room : Generally divided into a male and a female weight room. Aerobics : Also generally divided into a male and a female aerobics room. The female weight room may be combined with the female aerobics room. • PASSIVE RECREATION : Recreation Hall : The recreation hall includes pool tables and other passive games. However, it is considered a noisy area. Library (Learning Resource Center known as LRC) : May require direct access from outside for daytime use. This is a quiet area. Snack Bar : Snack bar seating should preferably be located in an open plan, but well defined space, in order to further a sense of openness. Food and supply storage should be in an enclosed room or in lockable cabinets. The snack bar may have microwave cooking capability and may need plumbing and utilities. The requirements for the snack bar will be provided in the SOW. It is considered a noisy area. Optional Facilities: Multipurpose Room : This room may be used for card games, board games, ping-pong, meetings, etc. Theater/TV Room : A number of centers offer video movies. Stadium seating may be considered.
