Description
The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Contracting Office, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure a heavy-duty (industrial) gas-fired furnace for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard ™s Forge Shop located in Portsmouth, Virginia. The contractor will be required to deliver and install the furnace and will be responsible for all rigging sketches, floor load analyses, and forklift equipment required to move the equipment into the Forge Shop. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333994, Industrial Process Furnace and Oven Manufacturing, and the procurement will be set aside for small businesses. The contract line item is as follows: CLIN 0001: Provide and install a heavy-duty, gas-fired furnace in Building 163 at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in accordance with the Statement of Work. The solicitation number is SPMYM1-11-T-0184 and the solicitation is expected to be posted on or around 13 September 2011. The Statement of Work is included in the solicitation, but has also been posted with this synopsis. Note that vendors will be required to submit cut sheets (specification sheets) for the furnace on which they are proposing for evaluation. Technical questions must be written and sent by email (bonnie.parker@navy.mil) or by fax (757-396-9895). Please make sure that the solicitation number (SPMYM1-11-T-0184) is included in the subject line of any email correspondence. Emails without subject lines will not be read because of security issues. Potential offerors are hereby notified that the solicitation and any subsequent amendments will only be available by downloading the documents at either www.neco.navy.mil or www.fedbizopps.gov, as this office no longer issues hard-copy solicitations. By submitting a proposal, the vendor will be self-certifying that neither it nor its principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any Federal agency.
