- Description
- RESPONSE to questions is provided. Question 1: Item 1 is asking for windows to be replaced. Our question is, would retro fit windows be acceptable? A retro fit window would require the removal of the existing glass, screen and center bar. The existing window frame is left in place. Then the new window is installed through the existing frame. The windows have the same Energy Star Rating and are insulated the same way but would require no damage to exterior stucco and interior drywall. RESPONSE: Quarters No. 616 / No - all window units to be demolished, removed & disposed & replace with new unit as described in SOW. Question 2: Item 2 bathroom 1 is asking for the removal of existing steel bathtub and re-installing steel bathtub when completed. The existing steel bathtub is in poor shape. There's rust around the drain area and damage along the outside bottom edge of the tub. Would we be allowed to replace the existing steel bathtub with a new steel white bathtub? RESPONSE: Quarters 616 / No - existing steel tub for bathroom 1 shall remain as described in SOW; Question 3: The second question for item 2 is dealing with the slabs that go around the bathtub. We have to remove the three slabs to remove the bathtub, replace piping, install new shower faucet and in our past experiences they rarely come out in one piece. RESPONSE: Quarters 616 / Contractor is responsible for means and methods for repair work of tub in bathroom 1 Question 4: Would it be okay to tile the front bathroom with same tile that is going to be used in bathroom 2? RESPONSE: Quarters 616 / Tile work per SOW for bathroom no. 2 only; Question 5: Item 2 also is requesting that trim be removed and replaced. Do you want us to replace it with the same type/style of trim? RESPONSE: Quarters 617-1 / Yes, provide similar trim profile as existing
