- In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration's Acquisition Management System, 3.2.1.2.12, the Western Service Area, Acquisition Management Group, is announcing a solicitation for competitive offers to perform the subject project. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the Western Logistics Service Area in Renton WA, contemplates the acquisition, on an all or none basis, of various steel / metal shelters for the housing and installation of electronic equipment including but not limited to Navigation, Landing, Lighting and related equipment, communication equipment, weather equipment, engine generators and other equipment for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other Government sites. It has been determined that only those firms meeting the following minimum prequalification requirements will be invited to submit proposals. 1.)Firms must be regularly engaged in the fabrication of pre-assembled steel / metal equipment shelters with existing plant facilities equipped for year-round shelter manufacturing. Plant must be capable of producing multiple shelters simultaneously and multiple quantities per month for the proposed contract. Firms must submit written evidence, e.g. recent (within the last five years) production schedules and shipping documents, reflecting performance in electronics/communication/ILS buildings. In addition, firms must submit a list of two to three existing customers that correspond with the production schedule provided. List must include customer name, contract number, date of award, date of completion, size of shelters and quantity of shelters per contract. 2.)Firms must have no less than five (5) years experience in design, fabrication and installation of steel shelters, wiring all components and associated equipment and be capable and experienced in transporting shelters to active airports using specialized trucks, trailers and cranes. The contractor MUST be regularly engaged in the fabrication of shelters with existing plant facilities equipped for year round shelter manufacturing. 3.)Firms must use skilled personnel who have been regularly engaged in this type of work. Where required by local regulations, personnel shall be properly licensed to perform categories of work involved. Electrical component installation, including conduit and conductors, terminations and splices shall be performed by a qualified electrician. 4.)Firms must supervise all work to assure quality of construction and maintain work on schedule. 5.)CAUTION: Vendors are cautioned that the FAA will use the data provided by other sources in evaluating past performance and experience. References will be contacted to provide past performance information. 6.)Potential offerors should note that the FAA reserves the right to communicate with one or more offerors at any time during the solicitation process.
