Description
---------- Amendment A003: This amendment provides answers to additional questions received regarding this solicitation. 1)You are requesting for Active/Active controllers, my question is why? EMC best practices is against this model. The vnx is designed so that if storage processor A goes down all of its LUNs will be trespassed to B and vice a versa. In terms of x-blades we recommend an n+1 configuration. We can force this to be active/active, but it would be beneficial to understand your needs. Based on your reasons, we may consider recommending a different solution and case scenario. Answer: NIST does not requires a LUN to be owned by both controllers. NIST does requires client can access the LUN via both controllers without trespassed. Active/Active controllers helps NIST avoid LUN ownership thrashing issues NIST have experience in the past with some of it clustered servers. 2)Also: you are asking for Async replication to an older technology, are you looking for block only or will there be a need for unified as well? Answer: NIST requires block only replication to and from an 3)Will the new SAN be installed into an existing data center rack or will a new one be required for the new SAN? Answer: The storage array will be installed into an existing data center rack. 4)Is the following line item needed for the new SAN? Answer: "FAST Suite for VNX53000 " it is needed to meet requirements e and l.
