- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement constitutes the solicitation only; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Reference number is W912HQ-11-T-0036 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-53. The closing date of this synopsis/solicitation is September 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM EDST. The requirement is set aside for small business and the associated NAICS code is 331422. Contract Line Items: Line Item 0001 - Flexible Copper Cable Welding or DCL 500 MCM, Qty: 2000 Feet (no less than 500 foot lengths) Description: 2000 feet of 500 kcmil "welding cable" in lengths of no less than 500 feet is required. This cable shall be extremely flexible, oil and abrasion resistant and the type DLO or Welding Cable. Delivery Information: The item shall be shipped no later than 15 days after the date of contract award. Delivery shall be made to: C Company, 249th Engineer Battalion (PP) ATTN: MSG Kris Gable Building 1416 Jackson Loop Fort Belvoir, VA 22060 The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. This unit requires the following cable in order to execute its mission. Scope: Prime Power conducts missions to provide utility grade power to numerous customers throughout the eastern region of the USA. Currently, the 249th Engineer Battalion lacks the ability to connect our MTOE Ruggedized Army Transformers (RAT) to the customers' switchgears. This scope details the procurement of a cable to complete quick disconnect systems to connect the RATs to various loads up at a distance of 120 feet at full rated load. Welding Cable or Diesel Locomotive Cable (DLO) is required due to the abrasion and oil resistance and high load (amp) requirements. This type of insulation is mandatory and cannot be substituted.
