Description
The Bureau of Reclamation intends to award a requirement for a contractor to execute highly specialized sonic drilling services at Granby Dam, Grand Lake, CO. The period of performance will consist of a base period (12 months). The Government envisions that the required sonic drilling services will commence during April 2012 and the overall work effort will approximate 15 on-site work days. The Government will be fairly flexible as to the start date since inclement weather could impede commencement of services. The contractor will be responsible to mobilize the required equipment and staff to the work site. The work effort will consist of pre-drilling of 10 holes, providing of PVC casings, and sand backfill of pre-drilled holes. Corporate and staff qualifications are highly specialized, and the contractor will be required to have the required sonic equipment prior to commencement of services. Corporate and staff experience shall be in geotechnical not environment drilling, with preference in water environments, large infrastructure such as dams and waterways, etc. The site operators shall be required to have a minimum of 5 years of sonic drilling experience. The equipment will be required to meet the following: have sufficient sonic head force to advance the 8 inch casings, sufficient pull down retract capability to drill with 8 inch casings, relatively new equipment to prevent breakdown at the worksite, require current OSHA safety certifications, drill mounted on truck platform, on which the drill is mounted. Be advised that the proposed staff and equipment will represent the minimum requirements the contractor will be required to comply with since an offeror's proposal will be incorporated under contract. Any firm that believes it can execute the pending requirement is encouraged to obtain a copy of the Request for Proposal from the Contracting Officer. All contractors requesting a copy of the Request for Proposal by the expiration date of publication of the synopsis period will be forwarded a copy of the Request for Proposal. Please note that based on how Fed-Biz Ops posts a synopsis, the 'Post Date' is the first day of the synopsis publication, and the 'Original Response Date/Current Response Date' equates to the expiration date of the synopsis, not the due date of any proposal. Inquiries will only be accepted by Fax at (303) 445-6345 at Attention: Ann R. Manning. E-mail requests will also be accepted at amanning@usbr.gov. Responses should include the firm's business size [e.g. small business, other than small business] in accordance with the size standard: $7 Million for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 541990.
