- This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought notice for the Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 7 Network Contracting Activity. The following information is provided to assist the Department of Veteran Affairs VA Medical Center Augusta, GA in conducting Market Research of Industry to identify potential Service Disabled Veterans Owned Small Business contractors to provide CLEAN-UP OF two (2) Legacy buildings at the Augusta VAMC.. The applicable NAICS code is 541620 and size standard $7.0 million. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. This notice is for the purpose of identifying potential sources and does not commit the government to make an award and/or issue a solicitation. Interested and qualified firms should submit pertinent information on their capabilities to provide the above mentioned services, including company name, address, telephone number, contact point and DUNS number of your firm. This procurement is date of award thru 26 September 2011, there will not be an extension of the period of performance as stated in the Statement of Work. Email: iridious.ruise@va.gov STATEMENT OF WORK: Gross Clean-up of Buildings 7 and 76 (8/30/2011, rev 4) Legacy buildings 7 and 76 located at the Charlie C. Norwood VAMC, Uptown Division are the only effected properties; with building 76 limited to the ground floor only. All materials contained in the affected areas of the two building that are not connected to the buildings shall be removed. There are agency sensitive records (work orders, monthly reports, etc) that remain in a number of legacy office spaces. These records shall be segregated, secured, and shredded under the supervision of a CNVAMC representative. All contents of the building are to be removed. Contractor constraints: There is known asbestos containing materials (ACM) in both buildings. The ACM is believed to be limited to non-friable floor tile and mastic. There is standing water in several portions of building 76 and mold is present. Contractor shall have a respiratory protection plan, to include fit testing data and medical evaluations; and a thermal stress response plan. Contractor shall utilize an Industrial Hygienist to monitor exposure potentials and control measures. Contractor shall comply with all applicable OSHA standards. Neither building has ANY utilities, contractor must provide for power, water, and restroom facilities. Contractor shall develop a thermal stress plan. The Contractor Industrial Hygienist is the only person permitted to modify respirator and thermal stress protective measures. Successful contractor shall comply with ALL of the following: Work shall be completed no later than 8 AM 26 September 2011. Contractor shall provide weight estimates of total materials removed shall be provided. Contractor shall provide weight estimates of materials recycled and/or reclaimed by category, to include metals, paper, etc. shall be provided. Identified records (approximately 30 file boxes) shall be segregated in a secure location and shredded on-site. The activity shall be monitored by a CNVAMC representative. All materials in the building not specifically identified for turn-in by the CNVAMC becomes the property of the contractor. The Contractor is responsible for acquiring debris, recycling/reclaiming bins (roll-off, etc). All Contractor materials and equipment (to include debris bins) shall be off site prior to 8 AM on 26 September 2011. All building contents shall be removed. The floors need NOT be swept clean. Contractor may work beyond normal operating hours; however, contractor must contact CNVAMC representative (Mike Pannell x7555) prior.
