- Description
- Is the desert tan exterior to be lusterless? Is either wet paint or powder coat acceptable? -steel frame case it what is requested. Is the requirement for (34) cases of each size (68 total)? - The requirement is for 34 cases total. The drawings and photographs were helpful however, we cannot discern the style of hinge required. Is there a mandate or are best engineering practices to be utilized? -based on the best engineering practices Concerns also arose regarding the.040 aluminum exterior..040 aluminum is approximately the thickness of the cardboard backer used on a legal pad. One might find.040 on the exterior of a cargo trailer for example, you can literally punch a hole through it by hand with a screw driver. Would suggest mandating either 1/8" or increasing to 3/16". Either choice will add to the service life of the cases and better withstand a strike by a forklift -the grade of aluminum that is requested is fine If the cases are to be stacked when stowed or deployed, would suggest placing receiver channels on top to accept the lower fork lift pockets of the upper case. This would allow the cases to nest when stacked -Cases will not be stacked Are either lifting rings or tie down rings required for ATTLA? -No Is the foam liner to be a continuous sheet? Pick & pluck as one would see in a Pelican case? (2) layers of egg crate? Custom cut? This web site may be helpful in answering this question http://www.thefoamfactory.com/packagingfoam/packagingfoam.html -the foam liner needs to be a continuous sheet with the area cut out for the accessories. how should the steel frame should be bonded to the aluminum shell? What type of rivets, spacing of rivets, etc.? The rivets are based on what the company uses and the spacing is based on how the engineers fabricated the case.
