Description
Introduction: Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the US ARIEM, intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to: Apple Enterprises, LLC, 1280 End Zone Road, Fishers, IN 46037 THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE. RESPONSES WILL BE USED FOR FUTURE ACQUISITIONS ONLY. 1. Nature and description of the supplies or services required to meet the agency's needs: MacPro, Two 6-Core Intel Xeon, Z0M4 Magic Mouse, Magic trackpad 065-0211, 2TB 7200-rpm, 065-9566, 2TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s 065-9562, 065-9558, accessory kit 065-9632, 2TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s 065-9570, Apple Keyboard 065-9593, ATI Radeon HD 5770GB 065-9571, Two 18x super drives 065-9577, Tow 2.93GHz 6-core Intel Xeon "Westmere" (12 core) 065-9541, 64GB (8x8GB) 065-0402 2. A demonstration that the proposed contractor is the only source available to provide these services or goods (i.e. unique qualifications, proprietary rights, etc.): Apple provides custom designed computer equipment to meet USARIEM's needs. Their parts are easily exchanged; they have rapid service call response and general reliability of their products. Also, all required software to complete the MRI analyses is functional on the Apple OS X platform, and this will ensure 100% compatibility and reliability. 3. A description of the market research that was conducted and the results, or a statement of the reason a market research was not conducted: Alternate vendors were identified by ARIEM, but none meet their exact requirements, the Apple is compatible with all our needs. 4.
