- Notice of Intent for Sole Source of VAX-D Genesis Decompression Table with accessories by VAX-D Medical Technologies, LLC. Pursuant to FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), the U.S. Army, MEDCOM, Western Regional Contracting Office(WRCO), Tacoma, WA, intends to issue a sole source award to VAX-D Medical Technologies, LLC, in the amount of $61,650.00 to purchase the equipment and accessories for William Beaumont Army Medical Center, FT Bliss TX. The VAX-D Genesis Decompression System will be used for patients with discogenic pain syndromes of the low back and neck. It is a non-surgical option aimed at relieving pain associated with herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, posterior facet syndrome, and radicular pain. This system has the option of both prone and supine positioning, and VAX-D is the only system noted in clinical research to decompress the discs to negative levels, and the only system that delivers treatment with the patented logoarithmic decompression curve. VAX-D Medical Technologies will provide full training to the staff in order to ensure best safe practices for operating the unit for the attending supervising physician(s). The VAX-D non-surgical lumbar decompression table system is a pioneer among decompression tables, and has been in clinical use since 1989 and subject of multiple clinical studies examining its effectiveness and mechanisms of action. This notice is not a request for proposal and no solicitation will be issued. Any firm that believes it can provide the stated supplies/equipment can provide supporting documents demonstrating their products capability; and specifications within three (3) calendar days from the date of publication of this notice. Responses received will be used for future acquisitions. Information can be sent to the Purchasing Agent; Mr. Walter J. Bischoff, walter.j.bischoff@us.army.mil. No telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. This procurement will be prepared in accordance with FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
