Description
The attached specifications, together with the referenced specifications, standards, and drawings specified in the Contract Documents cover the requirements for all work associated with the installation of fiber optic cable, copper cable, and RT conduit and waveguide at the Kona International Airport in Kona, Hawaii. Interior work shall include, but is not limited to, installing a new waveguide junction box and fiber optic patch panel, and additional multipoint and single point ground plates. Exterior work shall include, but is not limited to, purchasing and installing about 7,000 feet of single mode fiber optic cable in existing duct banks and testing the fiber optic cable strands, about 15,500 feet of copper cable, new RGS conduit and waveguide from the equipment shelter to the two towers, two new waveguide junction boxes and waveguide supports, tower lightning air terminal modifications, and a junction box on the side of the equipment shelter. This procurement will utilize the TIERED EVALUATION METHOD of source selection. (Offers will be considered according to the size of business and the order of preference as set forth in the Solicitation.) For more information, see Section M. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
