- Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute, Office of Acquisitions, 6120 Executive Boulevard, EPS Suite 600, Room 6074, Rockville, MD 20852, UNITED STATES. Description The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) plans to procure on a sole source basis services from Ambry Genetics, 100 Columbia #200, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656 to perform Agilent SureSelet Human Whole Exome 50MB target enrichment testing of samples from cases and controls. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures in FAR part 13.106 (b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code is 541380 the business size standard is $12.0 million. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm fixed price type contract. Period of Performance: Performance shall be for three (3) months from date of award. The Center for Cancer Research (CCR), Neuro-Oncology Branch (NOB) is working to develop new therapies for patients with primary brain and spinal cord tumors. The NOB has been intensively studying glioblastoma and has interest in characterizing the genomic alterations that underlie this disease in order to find targets for therapy. Through the advent of new technologies that will allow the sequence of entire exome, the NOB is now able to find mutations within regions that are potentially the most important, which are protein-coding regions. The purpose of this procurement is to test 36 serum samples and quality control samples using the Agilent SureSelect 50MB enrichment system, library preparation, indexing, and 100bp paired end processing using the IlluminaHiSeq2000 system. Ambry Genetics is the only known laboratory that is both a certified Agilent SureSelect Certified Service Provider and Illumina Certified Service Provider. Ambry will use the Agilent SureSelect 50MB enrichment system, library preparation, indexing, and perform the 100bp paired end sequencing using the Illumina HiSeq2000 system, and hence be able to deliver the type of data compatible with the data already generated in the NOB. The purchase is needed to continue an on-going experiment, and a change would be disruptive to current experiments. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations.
