Description
SYNOPSIS: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a construction project. The Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements for the contractor to remove existing flooring and wall base material and prepare existing sub-floors in designated areas. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The work covered by this contract consists of, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, tools, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and all miscellaneous requirements needed to perform all operations in conjunction with the effort to accomplish the Scope of Work below. All work shall be done in conformance with applicable sections of the attached Environmental Protection Specification, the project specifications, project drawings, Federal, State and Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Management (DERM) codes and regulations, and OSHA requirements. RESTRICTIONS: This solicitation is set aside 100% for SBA Certified Hubzone Firm. This acquisition will be made under NAICS code 238330-Flooring Contractors, with a size standard of $14,000,000. BID SCHEDULE: Solicitation is for a contractor to provide all plant, labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, appliances and supervision necessary to remove existing flooring and wall base material as designated on the attached drawings for the specified areas HARB Facilities 133, 185, 232, 246, 356, 360 and 874. Prepare existing sub-floors in designated areas identified above in accordance with specifications and floor material manufacturer's requirements. At all slabon-grade conditions to receive new carpet tile, apply a continuous and uniform concrete sealant acceptable to carpet adhesive manufacturer to prevent moisture vapor transmission. Floor substrates shall be clean, smooth, level and continuous to ensure a proper installation of new flooring material with no depressions or subflooring abnormalities telegraphing through the finish product. Install new wall base as identified on attached drawings in accordance with specifications and manufacturer's requirements. Installed wall base shall be straight, wrinkle-free without gaps, tight joints and fitted corners. Refer to Finish Schedule for specific floor finish and wall base for each area indentified in this SOW. All materials, including flooring adhesive shall be rated low or no VOC for interior spaces. Contractor shall repair / patch / replace and repaint all existing finishes damaged in completion of work to match existing. Porcelain tile in B185 shall be installed in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Refer to drawings for porcelain tile color selection. Finished product shall provide an even and continuous transition from adjacent porcelain tile floor. Provide matching porcelain tile base and terminate with marble threshold at all door openings where transitioning to a different flooring finish. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: $100,000 to $250,000. SITE VISIT: A site visit is scheduled and attendance by interested contractors is HIGHLY recommended. Date and time of site visit is August 29, 2011 (0900 at Homestead ARB, FL).
