- LC11QFC001 Cataloging Librarian SF18 The Library of Congress intends to issue an RFQ on or about August 22, 2011 on behalf of FEDLINK customer, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Library (CMS), to procure the services of a cataloging librarian. The cataloging librarian will be responsible for copy and original cataloging of primarily English language materials including agency publications and internal documents, congressional reports, legislative histories, and other general collection materials in a variety of formats (hard-copy, audiovisual, and electronic monographs and serials). The following qualifications are required: 1) a Masters of Library Science degree; 2) two or more years of recent employment in a special library in a government, corporate, or non-profit setting in which the primary duties were cataloging, including original cataloging; 3) knowledge of and experience with current cataloging practices using OCLC cataloging service; 4) experience with the application of the most current updates to the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR2) for descriptive cataloging, Library of Congress Rule Interpretations, Library of Congress Classification, and Library of Congress Subject Headings. The period of performance will begin on or around October 1, 2011 for 12 months. The ideal Contractor will provide a cataloger who is available 25 to 30 hours per week. Work will be performed on-site at the CMS Library in Baltimore, Maryland. All responses to the RFQ shall be in writing and shall include prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability.
