- Description
- The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), has a requirement to provide routine, emergency and preventive maintenance/repair of the NOAA Weather Radio (NWR) systems, to include, but not limited to; Armstrong Transmitters within the State of South Dakota. The contract will consist of a base period of twelve (12)-months from October 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012 and four (4) twelve (12)-month option periods. The NWS system is a broadcasting network consisting of transmission lines, transmitters, and antennas located at eighteen (18) sites within the State of South Dakota. The contract will require monthly (remote maintenance); every four (4) months (on site maintenance); yearly (signal strength measurements); monthly remote maintenance: 15 minutes; on-site maintenance: 2.5 hours and yearly field strength measurements: 8 hours, etc. The contractor will be required to provide maintenance services as needed, vault and tower space, control links, utilities, tools and test equipment, transportation and per diem to maintain the NWR System. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The Eastern Acquisition Division (EAD) requires that all Contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
