Description
This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the government in any contract award. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is seeking interested firms which have 236220 among their approved NAICS codes for the purposes of the renovation of an active hospital at Fort Bragg, NC which is located just west of Fayetteville, North Carolina. The construction activities will require complex phasing of work, major renovation (approximately 80,000 gross square feet) of an active hospital, complete renovation of an emergency department of 15,000 sf, construction of a temporary modular emergency department space outside the hospital, other department renovations, and lastly, the implementation and strict compliance with Interim Life Safety Measures, Infection Control Risk Mitigation Measures, and HIPPA requirements. The magnitude of construction is between $25,000,000 and $100,000,000. All interested firms with 236220 as an approved NAICS code have until 02 September 2011 at 2:00pm EST to submit the following information: (1). Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) & Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) (This information can be obtained from your Central Contractor Registration). (2). Name & Address of your Firm (3). Point of Contact (name/phone/email) (4). Business Size, to include designation as HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned Business, and large business. [If an 8(a) Small Business, your firm must have an office in Region IV (GA, AL, NC, TN, MS, FL, KY, SC)] (5). Bonding capability-both single and aggregate, as evidenced by submission of Surety Company letter stating bonding capacity in accordance with FAR 28.1 which demonstrates the ability to obtain sufficient bonding for the proposed project. (6). Evidence of capabilities to perform comparable work in the area of renovation of an active hospital on no more than five recent, relevant projects (which are no more than seven years old). Include the project name and description of the key/salient features of the project (i.e., square footage, multi-story, secure facility, phased renovation, etc.), completion date or projected completion date (if the project is not complete then list the percentage complete. Note: the project must be at least 50% construction complete), construction duration, total contract construction value, whether it was design-build or construction only (design-bid-build), your company's level of involvement in the project, and list the percentage as well as type of work that was self-performed. Please provide at least one point of contact (with email address and phone number) for project validation, preferably the end user. As well as the aforementioned, responses shall also include a narrative for each project submitted which describes how that project is similar in size and scope as well as how the experience relates to the proposed project. Note: Projects considered similar in size to this project would be alteration/renovation of active hospital facilities in of 80,000 gross square feet or larger (over $30 million magnitude), or new construction of a hospital in excess of 150,000 square feet (over $50 million magnitude). Projects considered similar in scope include new construction (expansion) and alteration of active hospital facilities that included major emergency department renovations, significant and complex phasing of work, construction of temporary modular emergency rooms, compliance with strict Interim Life Safety Measures, Infection Control Risk Mitigation Measures, and HIPPA requirements. All interested contractors have until 02 September 2011 at 2:00 PM EST to submit all of the required information as listed above.
