Description
NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a Laser Naples 266 with Installation, Quantity 1EA.Specifications:Wavelength: 266 nm with attenuator.Repetition Rate: Internal/External triggering, 200 Hz Energy Output: 270 uJ/pulse. Pulse-to-pulse stability (short- and long-terms): 5%. Pulse counting: available via RS-232 port (up to 4 x 109 pulses).Pulse width (at 266 nm): ~1 ns or less.Q-switch: Passive.Divergence: Close to Diffraction Limit.Beam profile: Close to TEM00 mode.Beam Diameter at the laser exit (at 50% fluency): ~ 5 mm.Output Beam pointing stability (std dev, 1 hour): 0.3 Diffraction Limit.External control: Connector for TTL trigger input or +4 +/-1V, into 1 k.Electrical power: ~ 100-240 VAC, 47-63 Hz, single phase.Power consumption: < 50 W.Warm Up time: < 5 minutes.Operating temperature and humidity: 18-28 C; 10-85 %.Compliance: CDRH, CE. 1 Year Warrenty for Parts and LaborInstallation NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from PASSAT, Inc, in Linthicum Heights, MD. Theexisisting Passat Naples 266 Laser System is dedicated to testing and evaluatingquantitatively the performance of our 3 mm and 4 mm ion trap mass spectrometer designs. A second identical laser system is required to dedicate to contamination testing in orderto more fully understand the characteristics of ablation when sampling uncondensedregolith. The laser system is the only viable choice for this testing.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon September 1, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
