Description
Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, installation and training for an Automated Blood Aliquoting System is a robotic Automated Liquid Handling (ALH) processing system for aliquoting human blood fractions. Vacutainer blood tubes will be added to or input into the system. On addition of blood tubes the system will read the bar-coded identifier on the tube and make a record of the ID. The system will include an automated decapper that will remove the caps from the blood tubes. The system will determine the locations of the blood fractions (plasma, buffy coat, red cells) within the tube with accurate precision. The robotic system will automatically remove specified volumes of each fraction and separately aliquot into specified racks of 2D bar-coded cryovials or deep well plates. The system will output separate racks of aliquots to be transferred to freezer/cryogenic storage, or other relevant lab processes such as Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) extraction. The system will track sample identifiers, specimen type, aliquot volume, cryovial identifier, and sample location (rack ID and location within rack), and maintain a complete audit trail. This solicitation will be unrestricted. The applicable NAICS code is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees. Award will be based on the best value to the Government. Evaluation factors include Technical, past performance and price. The solicitation package will be available on or about 8/17/2011. The date for receipt of quotations is scheduled for 9/13/2011 noon.
