Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Adult and Community Health, (DACH) intends to purchase services from the publisher, John Hopkins University Urban Health Institute, under a sole source purchase order. The contractor shall disseminate electronically and through the mail, a special issue "Progress in Community Health Partnership: Research, Education & Action (PCHP" The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, supplies and other services necessary to deliver the journal. Performance shall be at the contractor's facility. The period of performance shall continue for four (4) months after award of the purchase order. CDC anticipates award by September 12, 2011. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 511120 and the Business Size Standard is 500 Employees. The requirement is not set aside for small businesses. It is being procured under simplified acquisition procedures, found in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)Part 13. The sole source authority is FAR Section 6.302-1(a)(2) - the service is available from only one source capable of providing and satisfying the agency requirement. No other vendors were considered since John Hopkins University Urban Health Institute is the publisher and sole distributor of the required journal. CDC is not requesting competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, August 31,2011. Determination not to compete the proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a future competitive procurement. Respondents will assume all financial costs for preparing a response to this notice. The U.S. Government assumes no financial obligation for responses.
