- The Pacific Regional Contracting Office (PRCO) at TAMC intends to award a firm-fixed price, personal service contract for Electroencephalograph (EEG) Technician services for the Department of Medicine, Neurology Clinic, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. This requirement is for a period of performance from 26 September 2011 through 25 September 2012 (Base and four option periods). Required experience of the EEG Technician includes but is not limited to: (1) A minimum of 2 years of current work experience in conducting electroenephalograms is preferred. (2) Must possess and maintain current course completion documentation for basic cardiac life support (BLS) through an American Heart Association approved training program. This certification shall be maintained in a current status at all times in order to perform the services under this contract. (3) Knowledge, of the concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques related to EEG and evoked potential equipment and considerable skill in applying them to the conduct of the full range of electroencephalograph examinations to include special complicated examinations or studies for which there are no procedures or normative values established. (4) Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to the presence of common disease states that do not, involve the nervous system, but which may influence the display of the EEG or may necessitate modification of procedures and recording techniques. Detailed knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system and the ability to understand the relationship of EEG and evoked potential testing in detecting states of disease and health. (5) Knowledge of the basic concepts electricity and electronics in order to understand sources of artifacts caused by electrical interference and the basic electronics of the instrumentation to include its abilities and limitations. Knowledge of and ability to operate a variety of equipment in the performance of procedures to include: complex state-of-the-art multi-modality electro diagnostic equipment, including video EEG telemetry system with seizure detection computers and spike analysis software. The NAICS code for this proposed procurement is 622110 and the annual size standard is $34.5M. This solicitation package will be available on both the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Acquisition Business website (https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/) and the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov/) on and about 16 August 2011. No paper copies of the solicitation will be issued and no solicitation mailing list will be compiled.
